DuPont Electronics and Industrial business (E&I) is a world leader in the electronic and industrial materials markets. We are hiring an Electromechanical Development Engineer for our Experimental Station located in Wilmington, DE

This is an On-Site opportunity. Some domestic and/or international travel will be required (up to 25%).

The E&I Applied Engineering team provides a broad range of specialized mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to advance the execution of new product and applications development programs and improve the performance of E&I manufacturing operations.

We are seeking Mechanical and Electrical Engineers with interest and aptitude in conceptualization, design, development and optimization of electromechanical systems and electronic devices.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Key Job responsibilities for this role include engineering First-of-A-Kind electro-mechanical systems and automated machinery for R&D, application development and manufacturing purposes. The successful candidate will have broad interest and aptitude in fields related to machine design, rapid prototyping, robotics, fabrication, and electromechanical systems integration.

In this role, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in some, or all, of the following capacities depending on his/her capabilities, aptitude, and interests:

  • Leading development of First-of-A-Kind machinery and robotic systems to solve manufacturing and new product development challenges.

  • Working with engineering and R&D teams to conceptualize, design, develop and fabricate prototype devices utilizing E&I products for new and improved customer applications.

  • Working with engineering and R&D teams to develop custom laboratory test systems (test fixtures, automated test equipment, etc.).

  • Working with manufacturing teams to improve existing, or develop new, manufacturing equipment.

  • Working with engineering and R&D teams to understand material requirements for commercial devices and applications (tear-down analysis, FEA, testing, etc..).

Qualifications:

  • BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with coursework concentration and/or research involving one or more of the following areas:

  • Electromechanical system design and integration

  • Electronic circuit/device design

  • Machine design

  • Machine automation and control

  • Machine vision and automated inspection

  • Experience with 3D CAD systems such as Solid works or Creo.

  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical fabrication technology

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a challenging, diverse team environment in a respectful manner.

  • Automation, Controls and Programming

  • Self-motivated problem solver

  • Hands-on experience and passion for building and fixing things.

  • Networking and teambuilding skills

  • Team leadership experience
