Shelter Solutions is part of DuPont Water & Protection and encompasses the Corian® Design and Performance Building Solutions. It provides products that improve the look and functionality of buildings worldwide. This division includes well-known brands like Great Stuff™, Froth-Pak™, Styrofoam™, Tyvek®, and Corian®.

A division of Shelter Solutions is the Home Improvement Business , which sells products through major North American retailers such as The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards, Ace Hardware and Amazon. These retailers reach a broad audience of DIY homeowners and professional contractors.

To succeed in the retail market, Shelter Solutions focuses on:

  • Working closely with various markets to tailor messaging about building science and product value.

Position Summary:

Shelter Solutions is recruiting for the role of Global Business Director, Home Improvement to join its leadership team and shape the future of this iconic business.

This role is responsible for developing the long-term business strategy. It role will drive key strategic initiatives annually to deliver business results by providing strong leadership to the core business operating team.

The position has direct accountability for integrating all line functions such as marketing, sales, integrated operations, product line management, technology, supply chain, and demand to deliver on sales growth and margin objectives.

It will balance results delivery with a strong focus on team building and change management, while demonstrating hands-on leadership and adherence to core values.

The role will focus on the Americas, but also provide direction and support to EMEA and AP counterparts relative to SPU strategy and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role is responsible for achieving long-term and short-term growth and profit targets for the Spray Polyurethane (SPU) value center, which relates to Home Improvement. This includes:

  • Managing SPU's financial performance by identifying growth opportunities and addressing risks.

  • Leading the execution plans for the next 0-24 months, including overseeing the Integrated Business Planning process.

  • Implementing strategies that align with overall business goals.

  • Setting priorities related to distribution, pricing, and supply objectives.

  • Driving growth for Tyvek® and XPS in the Retail channel, following the Building Envelope strategy.

  • Developing long-term business strategies focused on product innovation, new market exploration, and enhancing customer experience.

  • Building necessary capabilities for future strategy implementation, such as packaging and data management.

  • Contributing to important strategic and portfolio decisions.

Business Leadership:

  • Leads the Home Improvement operating team, ensuring cross-functional integration.

  • Utilizes product management, pricing, and finance to enhance SPU results.

  • Provides clear direction for sales and operations to meet goals.

  • Manages the integrated business process, aligning supply, demand, and product plans.

  • Oversees growth and product portfolio management.

  • Develops a high-performing, diverse team to achieve business objectives.

  • Offers daily leadership and sets high standards for results and behavior.

  • Allocates resources based on key strategic priorities while supporting the Exteriors team.

  • Focuses on talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement.

  • Collaborates on optimizing Tyvek® and XPS results in line with the Shelter strategy.

  • Emphasizes safety, core values, and employee engagement within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline; MBA degree strongly preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience running a business/division

  • Deep understanding of retail or the business-to-consumer market is preferred

  • Strong leadership skills – self driven, hands-on, ability to function as a player coach, and ability to drive results with empathy

  • Solid execution track record – ability to make decisions and deliver consistent results

  • Experience building diverse teams and leading global, matrixed functions

  • Extensive experience leading change and developing talent

  • Outstanding financial acumen and deep understanding of business levers

  • Strong executive communication and strategic thinking skillset

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to travel 30% as needed

  • Sharp communication skills
