The Global Strategy / M&A Leader will report to the Global Vice President & General Manager for the DuPont Water Solutions business and will be a member of the DWS global leadership team. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the global strategy for our organization. You will be responsible for analyzing market trends, identifying strategic opportunities, and creating strategies to ensure the organization stays positioned for long term growth.

This individual works closely with cross functional senior leaders across DWS to support the execution of the global strategy and driving key strategic initiatives to enable growth within and beyond the core businesses. The successful candidate will lead a small team of direct reports and oversee the various cross-functional project teams responsible for strategy, strategic programs such as commercial excellence transformation, digital transformation as well as integration of acquisitions.

Please note our leadership team does work a hybrid schedule which is 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. Candidates should live within a commutable distance to the corporate site located in Wilmington, DE or be willing to relocate to the area.

Your Key Responsibilities :

  • Partner with the VPGM and global functional leaders to develop business segment strategies which help accelerate growth

  • Lead DuPont Water Solutions strategy development, active portfolio management, and inorganic growth initiatives by collaborating with cross functional teams to develop and implement new business models, partnerships, and strategic initiatives

  • Drive cross functional growth enabling strategic initiatives such as, Integrated Business Process (IBP), Operational/Commercial Excellence and M&A pipeline management

  • Develop and communicate business plans, financial models, and performance metrics for key strategic initiatives

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and other industry leaders

Your Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or industry-related field is required; MBA highly preferred

  • Water Industry experience preferred, not required

  • Chemical Industry experience is required

  • 10+ year’s experience in business strategy or business development, with substantial strategy and acquisition diligence experience in non-commodity markets

  • 10+ year’s experience in business management with a deep understanding of all P&L functions with the ability to leverage cross-functional capabilities to create value, improve profitability, and evaluate competitive advantages (previous P&L ownership preferred, not required)

  • Experience developing annual strategy plans and driving successful execution of strategic initiatives

  • Experience in business development and acquisition diligence

  • Track record of assessing and valuing adjacent markets

  • Analytical and strategic thinker with strong business acumen

  • Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar markets through primary research and analysis

  • Ability to lead teams, both direct reports as well as through influence management. Setting clear goals, aligning the team and driving accountability for desired outcomes.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A proven track record of delivering consistent results with a fact-based with a data-driven approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems.
