Job Description
As an Associate Design Engineer at Caterpillar, you will have an opportunity to perform design, development, and maintenance of new or existing products and components.
Duties / Responsibilities
Responsible for design and maintenance of engine components such as Core components, Fabrication components and casting components for LPSD engine platforms
Researching new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.
Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 1 4 years of experience
Good understanding of GD&T standards and basic engine system
Knowledge of Creo modules
Good communication and presentation skills, in both Chinese and English
Desired Qualification
Experience in Caterpillar engineering processes like APQP, PPAP, CPPD, DVP&R, FMEA, etc.
Experience in Creo Design
Experience in FEA results analysis and interpretation
Experience resolving engineering issues with manufacturing / factory floor
Familiar with engine structure
Engine component resource experience
Travel : up to 20% required with this role
Relocation/Sponsorship : Open for relocation
