Job Description

As an Associate Design Engineer at Caterpillar, you will have an opportunity to perform design, development, and maintenance of new or existing products and components.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design and maintenance of engine components such as Core components, Fabrication components and casting components for LPSD engine platforms

  • Researching new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.

  • Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.

  • Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.

  • Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 1 4 years of experience

  • Good understanding of GD&T standards and basic engine system

  • Knowledge of Creo modules

  • Good communication and presentation skills, in both Chinese and English

Desired Qualification

  • Experience in Caterpillar engineering processes like APQP, PPAP, CPPD, DVP&R, FMEA, etc.

  • Experience in Creo Design

  • Experience in FEA results analysis and interpretation

  • Experience resolving engineering issues with manufacturing / factory floor

  • Familiar with engine structure

  • Engine component resource experience

Travel : up to 20% required with this role

Relocation/Sponsorship : Open for relocation
