Our Manufacturing Engineers provide technical support to operations employees and other support functions during the manufacturing of wheeled and tracked military vehicles. This role is specific to fabrication (welding and drilling) at our York, PA facility. Manufacturing Engineers are the first responders and problem solvers to technical production barriers. We are responsible for ensuring technical outcomes are consistent with established manufacturing engineering principles. We provide guidance to the greater teams ensuring customer, company, quality, and regulatory requirements are met. This position supports the 3rd Shift, 9:30 PM to 7:00 AM, on a 9/80 schedule.

We are looking for enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineers. In this role, you will...

  • Train and guide operators on the manufacturing processes.

  • Develop concepts, design change recommendation, rework/ repair instructions and Investigate cause / corrective actions identified as issues in fabrication.

  • Recommend process changes and implement process improvements.

  • Prepare and conduct weld engineering analysis of materials and work instruction procedures to build the product.

  • Use knowledge of metallurgy, material weldability, manual machine operation, and support of weld machines.

  • Review detailed production documentation to provide acceptable product and process work instructions.

  • Develop or contribute to the creation of welding standards and specifications.

  • Support special weld repairs as necessary and order perishable tooling for the manufacturing process.

This position is responsible for ensuring requirements are met throughout either the fabrication processes on the AMPV Value Stream.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have expert knowledge of concepts, practices, drawing standards and procedures of Weld Engineering processes.

  • Capable of working with current computer applications, CAD programs, and model manipulation.

  • Possesses an understanding of equipment and technologies relevant to welding, weld engineering, and manual machine operation.

  • Ability to solve complex technical problems that require a professional level of weld engineering knowledge and manufacturing processes.

  • Need to work well in a team environment.

  • Will be required to work with customer (both internal and external).

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Certification with AWS (American Weld Society) as a CWI (Certified Weld Inspector)

Knowledge of drilling / machining operations

Hands on fabrication experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $68700 - $116800

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
