As part of our engineering and manufacturing team, you can help us ensure the integrity and reliability of our most critical products. Our Combat Mission Systems business is currently looking for an entry level CNC Analyst/Programmer that is dedicated to learning the trade and rise to the challenge to deliver products that help protect the lives of those who serve.

As a CNC Analyst/Programmer I, you will:

  • Receive hands on training in all aspects of machining and programming, including program development, software usage, quality control, floor support and much more.

  • Develop and manage CNC programs for large structure machining efforts.

  • Support complex setups and precise alignment of work pieces on machining tables.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Machine OEMs to provide in-depth technical support for our large machining centers.

  • Provide floor support to Machine Operators, troubleshoot issues, and drive to develop creative solutions.

  • Develop efficiencies within existing processes and drive the use of industry best practices.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering discipline(s), industry best practices, business trends, and application of new technology.

  • Ensure concepts, development, and machining processes support customer requirements and standards.

  • Support the design and evaluation of machine-related tooling and fixturing.

  • Participate in capital acquisition projects that support the advancement of machining capability and capacity.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 1-2 years experience as a machinist or machine operator, and/or vocational education

  • Applications and operation/user knowledge of CNC equipment

  • Working knowledge and skill set to read and use precision layout measuring equipment

  • General understanding and application of algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric functions to blueprint dimensions in the machining of complex parts

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and inspection instructions to determine product conformance requirements

  • Thorough understanding of Geometric Tolerances and Dimensions

  • Knowledge of cutting tool selection and machining speeds and feeds

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels

  • Ability, confidence and self-motivation to apply talents independently and with good judgment

  • Candidate must be coachable and demonstrate a strong desire to learn the programming trade

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Associate s or Bachelor s degree in an engineering-related discipline

  • Machinist or Tool Maker certification

  • Experience in creating CNC programs, preferably using Siemens NX CAM software

  • Experience with Siemens 840D control

  • Experience with Vericut simulation software
