Job Description

BAE Systems is hiring a Maintenance Engineering Manager III to join our CMS team to develop strategic plans for Manufacturing Equipment and associated reliability measures. Lead a team of specialists focused on achieving current and long-term operational goals ensuring CMS future business opportunities. Develop partnership(s) with industry leading technology partners to ensure success. The CMS Maintenance Engineering Manager plays a key part in maximizing critical production equipment for a core competency of our business and you will be responsible for multiple site performance with a focus on CMS performance.

  • This is an onsite position that will require 25% of travel on average.

  • There may be flexibility to be based out of one of the CMS locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support various Operations teams by working in a safe, customer-focused manner; remaining highly self-motivated and customer-centric.

  • Develop processes to ensure machinery sustains a high level of uptime while producing high quality product in a safe manner.

  • Research and develop industry partnerships with critical suppliers.

  • Develop processes for operational manufacturing execution.

  • Build training protocols and solutions for operation and machine tool operators.

  • Construct framework and process for digital technology.

  • Provide engineering support on planned and unplanned repairs, modifications, and upgrades to production equipment.

  • Develop recovery plans for minimizing downtime on critical machine tools.

  • Build cohesive maintenance plan for maintaining machines.

  • Develop spare parts strategies for long-term machine tool support.

  • Build partnerships with OEMs and secondary maintenance suppliers.

  • Design training programs and standard for maintenance teams.

  • Develop and design innovative solutions to difficult problems, manage outside contractors and be on call for emergencies.

  • Develop technology tools to measure KPI s linked to OEE.

  • Ability to think strategically to plan effective changes in the organization.

  • Excel at problem solving of both technical and non-technical process issues and lead a team of managers and supervisors through complex problem solving.

  • Oversee departmental daily activities for operations and maintenance of utilities.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • Identify PdM applications and develop implementation plans.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

  • Experience in Maintenance Engineering Management

  • Experience in Program/Operations Management including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management

  • Experience in People Management

  • Experience in Manufacturing/Production environments

  • Ability to strategically plan for short-term and long-term solutions

  • Ability to effectively partner throughout the business and maintain a customer-centric outlook

  • Ability to manage and communicate with stakeholders, including upward to leadership, across the business, and down into your origination

  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills; capable of communicating summarized accomplishments in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency

  • Good computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with reliability centered maintenance planning and predictive maintenance

  • Experience in operations, test, and commissioning

  • Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance

  • Experience in manufacturing planning schedules and staffing

  • Experience in development and execution of budgets

  • Experience in cost reduction planning and execution

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
